 Job Description
Responsibilities: Reporting to the MultiClient Manager for Africa, this role encompasses many functions, including:
· Become competent in the Company’s MultiClient data business (training and support will be provided)
· Identify the key technical and commercial players in established and new clients in Africa. The key focus will be in West and North Africa.
· Become the first point of contact for your client base for MultiClient data.
· Provide visible and ongoing contacts within your accounts, scheduling regular client visits.
· Develop strong working relationships with these players.
· Promote and present MultiClient data to clients.
· Drive the sales process from preparation of quotes through to closing the sale.
· Work closely with the MultiClient Regional Business Development Manager, providing feedback on accounts, market trends and challenges.
· Prepare and negotiate license agreements for the data.
· Assist in the organisation of conferences and technical seminars. Work closely with marketing personnel to increase exposure of MultiClient data with the region.
· Be proactive in raising awareness and reputation of the value of the Company’s MultiClient business within your region.
· Ensure that a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the service delivery.
· Undertake extensive travel to clients and to marketing events (e.g. trade shows, conferences) to promote MultiClient data.

The role offers a great opportunity for an individual with proven sales experience selling geophysical products, services or data OR a geophysicist (preferably acquisition or processing) with a desire to succeed in sales. In general, the Company is growing rapidly, and this growth offers excellent potential for career progression.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
· BSc/MSC in Geophysics / Physics or Earth Sciences discipline essential.
· A minimum of 5 years work experience essential, preferably with a service company.
· Proven geophysical background with experience in supporting, managing or selling geophysical products, services or/and data essential.
· Previous experience of the MultiClient business (e.g. services, data, acquisition, processing) highly desirable.
· Drive and ambition to succeed in sales essential. Must have strong client facing skills.
· Previous experience selling into Africa –especially the oil industry in North or/and West Africa highly advantageous.
· Understanding of market trends, work practices and technologies relating to geophysical services essential.
· Commercial acumen - the ability to work a market place, to identify players and build relationships and to close business essential.
· Project management skills – the ability to manage your own time and your accounts effectively.
· Proven team builder – the ability to mentor, support and develop staff and to utilise their skills effectively.
· Technical/communications skills – can quickly grasp the technical aspects of MultiClient services and the ability and confidence to articulate the value proposition to clients.
· Marketing focused – understand the importance of raising awareness and reputation within your region.
· Excellent interpersonal skills - the ability to work at all levels within the Company to accomplish goals.
· Highly flexible – ability to adapt to growing business needs.
· Willingness to travel.


Package: An attractive Base Salary of between £40K – £65K plus an attractive bonus scheme is on offer dependent on skills and experience, plus 25 days holiday, pension, gym sponsorship, medical cover, etc…
